Chengdu old center, wholesale market and train to Lhasa

Day 159
Chengdu

We checked out at 13.00 and walked couple of minutes to Chengdu old center (Kuan Lane, Zhan lane). This part felt like an old China, but full with souvenirs and Chinese tourists:-D

Some girls were dancing and promoting something, so we used this opportunity to take pictures with them and while Juli and Luciano were posing, 100 other photographers took pictures of them haha

And later we saw many people playing traditional chinese game - Mahjong.

We walked till the main square with Mao Zedong statue.

Then we took taxi to a wholesale market – to buy Mahjong, Chinese game that we plan to play on our 46 hours train to Lhasa (if Tommy teaches us how :D

After buying Mahjong, Sera, Luciano and Tommy decide to go to Electronics market, to look for the iPod. Me and Juli took a taxi to our hostel, and after hard traffic we finally arrived to Loft. Within about 30 minutes guys have arrived and told us that they did not go to the market, since they have been waiting for taxi for 40 minutes and then have decided just to go back :D

After lunch we took 2 taxis to Railway station and dropped our bags in the waiting hall, waiting for our train. We needed to buy some provisions for the journey, water, some food and of course beers! After buying stuff in the shop inside the station, we ended up with a cart full of beers (48), water (12), cokes and some food. It was a restaurant on the train, so we did not worry a lot about the food haha

The girl from the shop took the cart all the way to our wagon. But there was another challenge waiting for us. Our tickets were not for the same room, we had 3 tickets in wagon nr.4, 1 ticket in the wagon nr.3 and one in the wagon nr.13. So after some negotiation (thanks to Tommy) and finally bribing the last passenger with 40 Yuan (4 euro) we finally managed to be all together in a 6 seats compartment + one local guy, who was so quiet on the top floor, that we even did not notice his presence :-D

The train journey has began and we were opening the first train beers! :D
