CONCLUSIONS MONGOLIA

CONCLUSIONS MONGOLIA

What we really liked about Mongolia:

· Scenery– One of the most beautiful natural scenary I have seen in my life. Colours and free space you can find in this country are simply IMPRESSIVE!!!

· Sky– especially at night is amazing and only comparable with New Zealand one.

· Camel and hourse ridingas a new unique experience, which is also pretty accesible and cheap!

· Meat - not for me, but for Juli :-) One kg of a steak meat (beef) cost in Mongolia around 3 euro...and if it is lamb, then it is only 1,5 euro/kg.

· The fact that there is only one city in the whole country and the rest is countryside :D

What we did not like about Mongolia:

· No roads: any travel takes ages and you need a really special car to get through :D

· No other food then lamb (or if you find anything it is really bad) – and lamb is really stinky one, so you need guts to have it every day :D

· People are not nice -rather not friendly and sometimes even agressive and disrespectful.

· Lots of robberies -even we were lucky not to get robbed, we always met people who got robbed, practically everywhere.

· No WC or shower outside UB - may be its a good thing that helps to disconect, but after 3 days without a shower, you kind of don't want to disconect anymore :D

CONCLUSIONS CHINA

CONCLUSIONS CHINA

What we really liked about China:

· Cheap beer– even only 3,5% alcohol, but pretty decent!!!

· Great food – totally different from what you eat in Chinese restaurants in Europe and Hot pot is our favorite!!

· Cultural Heritage – Shangri La, Lijang Old Center, Beijing Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven – spectacular places to see!

· Shanghai, this Europe inside China, always moving and surprising city and of course World Expo 2010!!

· The fact that taxi drivers don’t try to cheat you :D

· Shopping, Shopping and Shopping!!!

What we did not like about China:

· Lots of people everywhere you go….and they are kicking and punching you, in the crowd :D

· No blue sky in big cities – pollution is terrible, even when the sun goes out, there is still no blue sky…

· Nobody speaks English, so moving around outside Beijing and Shanghai makes it a bit difficult.

· Trains are pretty expensive in China, so if you want to move around – prepare some cash!!! :D

Conclusions Malaysia

Conclusions Malaysia

What we really liked about Malaysia:
  • Malaysia is a really easy country - almost everybody speaks English, everything is well organised and you can travel everywhere without any problems or miscomunications.
  • Beautiful beaches of Perhentian islands and under water world is really nice!
  • Food in Penang is incredible and in general, the mixture of Malay, Chinese and Indian food is great - you can always have a choice!
What we did not like about Malaysia:
  • The main problem with Malaysia was that it is a muslim country and due to religion and high taxes, the beer and alcohol in general is extremely expensive comparing to other Asian countries. The prices for beer are almost same as in Europe actually.
  • It is so f*&&ing hot in Malaysia!! You sweat all the time, due to the heat and humidity...
  • I think our problem was that we visited too many Asian countries already, that is why Malaysia seemed nice to us, but not that impressive.
The other thing is that we visited only continental Malaysia and from what we have heard, the most impressive part has to be in Borneo - best beaches and diving (Sipadan), best jungle and animals in the National parks. May be next time! :-)

Conclusions Tibet

Conclusions Tibet

What we really liked about Tibet:
  • Tibet is very beautiful! Its people, it's particular style and incredible nature is one of the most impressive that we have seen in our lifes!
  • Everest - amazing experience that everybody has to do at least once in life!
  • Tibet sky - finally blue clear sky, no fog, no rain and no polution!!
What we did not like about Tibet:
  • Tibet is so difficult to get in!!! You can not go yourself, you need a permit, you need a tour, you end up paying much more!!!
  • Nothing is for free in Tibet - any lake, any National park, any monastery has a ticket to sell...
  • The military presence and the feeling that this is an occupied territory....doesn't feel nice

Conclusions Hong Kong

Conclusions Hong Kong

Things that we liked about Hong Kong:

· The mixture of technology and modern architecture with local flavor

· Good and cheap food (if you know where to go :D

· People are nice, polite and friendly.

· Taxis are sometime cheaper then subway (if you are more then 2 people)

· Almost everybody speaks English and it’s very easy to move around

Things we did not like about Hong Kong:

· Drinks in the bars are damn expensive for Asian standards!! :-D

· Accommodation is expensive too (a bed in a dorm costs 110 HKD – 11 euro, double room in a very basic hostel at least 200 HKD – 20 euro)

· After Singapore, Tokyo, Bangkok, Hong Kong did not seem to be too original to us. It is different from all these places, but in the same time very similar at some points.
