Khao san road and the area

Day 55
Bangkok

In Khao San Road we got a map from some tourist agent, which had funny and useful information about shops, bars, bus stops and everything you can find in the area. We have decided to go discover as much as we can before arrival of Andreea and then together with her to do touristic part :-)

Pad thai sold on the street has to be eaten on the street...yeah, exactly this way :-D

Some buddist temples in the area, free entrance and somehow not so interesting for the local tourists (they prefer beers in Kao san road haha

We entered the temple (Wat Boworniwet) to see what's inside :P

And then went to discover local street shopping :-D

All around thai people were offering tuk tuks, suits (tailor made), massage, food, drinks...and this way every 5 meters...but in the end you get used to it :-D

And sunset at Santichaiprakan park, 5 min walking from our hotel, at the river Chao Phraya.

Same day we discovered that to get to kao san from our hotel, we had to take a shortcut through another hostel on the road, which apparently had free internet in the lobby. Since in the hotel they did not ask who is the guest and who is not, we decided to use the net.

At the internet, two guys were loudly discussing in Spanish their future travel plans and checking Couchsurfing website same time. We couldn't let them escape and got two new friends in Bangkok -
David from Madrid and Dipu, originally from Indian parents, but born and raised in Tenerife :-)

We had a beer together and decided to meet next days and hang out around the area.
