Battanbang countryside

Day 86
Battambang

This is the view from our hotel - center of Battanbag looks like this :-D

And this is laundry:-D

The route for today's trip:
  • Way Banan temple
  • Way Ek Phnom and flying foxes
  • some winery Camboya
  • “Bamboo Train” which is actually main battanbang attraction in Lonely planet :-D
We picked up a Tuk-Tuk in front of our hotel and agreed to pay 14$ for the day trip (for 4 of us).

As we saw from the boat, there are lots of children in the countryside and we decided to buy something for them. After buying candies and baloones, we were puting a candy inside the baloon and then blowing it - so it can't fly away easily and in the end when it explodes, a kid can get a candy :-D

It was really hot and this is the stairs we had to take to get to the first temple on the mountain :-(

the temple was nice, but not in a good shape...

and it was really HOT!!!

some animals in the area :-D

We went back to the tuk tuk and then arrived to the next stop - flying foxes. Huge bats, were called flying foxes. These bats are vegetarians, they eat fruits and actually not dangerous at all - but curios to see :-D

Next stop - local winery. After wine tasting we have decided that it was one of the worst wines we ever tried :-D

During the trip we made lots of baloons and were giving them to the kids :-D

And finally - bamboo train, which actually has nothing impressive at all :-D its a small construction of bamboo bottom on wheels which makes its way from one side of the village to another, through the fields.

Since there are several trains, sometimes they meet in the middle of the way, so one has to stop and unmount the train in order to give way to the other one.

At the end of the route there is a village with lots of children waiting for presents from "stupid tourists" haha

Going back!!

We got back to the hotel and next day have decided to go to Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia.

Tonight for dinner, we went to another place recommended by Lonely planet, called Smokin’ Pot. Juli ordered "the whole chicken" and they brought him something like 3rd part of the chicken without legs. He started to ask where is the rest of the chicken and the waiter said that chicken in Cambodia are small and have no legs haha Juli sweared never to eat in Lonely planet places haha
