Day 39
Wellington – Taupo
We picked up the rental car in the morning and headed to Taupo.
There is a long way from Wellington to Taupo, around 400 km, lying through green hills reminding us about the Shire in Lord of the rings.
Finally we arrived to the Taupo lake, the biggest on North island and really beautiful.
Our CS hosts in Taupo, Morgan y Dave, a couple of civil engineers and their flatmates Mike and Leanne were home when we arrived. A day before they had a party, so were not in a great mood for drinking beer, but we had a nice dinner together and Juli couldn't miss the chance to play "Guitar hero".
We went to sleep pretty early, since tomorrow we had a great mission - Tongariro crossing, which is alphine crossing of Tongariro moutain, which lasts around 8 hours...yeah! :-D
