Way to Abel Tasman

Day 35
Christchurch - Motueka - Marahau

Next stop in our trip was Abel Tasman park and kayaking. We never did kayak, but somehow it was one of the highlights recommended by many people, so we decided to try it. We decided to drive to Abel Tasman, sleep in backpackers, do kayak next day and same day head to Nelson, where we were staying in our CS host, Nina.

We decided to drive through ‘Lewis Pass’, mountains scenic way, even the day was really rainy and cloudy.

On the way we stoped at Maruia falls and couple of look outs, but the day was rainy and we just kept driving, hoping to arrive soon to Abel Tasman and get some rest.

Important thing in NZ while driving to put gasoline when you have a chance, since there not so many gas station in this country and you can drive for 200 km without seeing one on the way :-D

We arrived to backpackers in Marahau, the room was nice and big, but the rain wouldn't stop and I started to have doubts about success of kayaking tomorrow :-D They guy at reception said - no worries, tomorrow will be sunny....hmmmm, Lets see!
