Abel Tasman National park

Day 36
Marahau y Nelson

It was not raining in the morning so we hoped the day will get better. We had some brief explanation and demonstration how pedaling works and how should we manage kayak, then our group of 10 and the guide headed to the sea.

The sea was not calm at all, but it didn't scare us and finally we managed get into the water and were following our guide, who was explaining things about the park and wildlife.

After 30 minutes of the kayak trip our bodies were hurting like hell, back and uncomfortable position of the legs, together with water everywhere geting inside the boat - something was telling me it was first and last time we do kayaking haha

Together with our guide we went to see some seals who were playing in freezing water and didn't give us any attention at all.

After 2,5 hours kayaking we finally landed to the shore and our guide prepared for us some coffee with cookies, perfect timing! ;-D

It was a nice experience, worth to try...once haha I think we are too addicted to comfort to do that again :-D

After kayaking we headed to Nelson, to meet our host Nina, German woman who were living for almost 30 years in NZ.

Nina had beautiful house and was full of life. In spite of her age (50+), she was dancing salsa, tango, cycling, actively traveling around the world - she wouldn't stop :-D

Behind her house it was a small garden and a river, where there were some eels and sometimes she was feeding them with leftovers of her dinner :-D
