The cheapest way to get from Guangzhou to Hong Kong airport.

27 May

Day 183: Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Kuala Lumpur

Today we have a flight from Hong Kong to Kuala Lumpur. Our 30 days of the first entry in China are finished and we need a bit of a beach. We have decided to go to Perenthian islands in Malaysia, visit our friend Ruben, who is working there as dive instructor, together with Sergio and Laura (whom we know as well from Couchsurfing Barcelona).

There are different ways to get from Guangzhou to Hong Kong airport.

· One option is to take direct express train, Guangzhou – Hong Kong for 190 Yuan (19 Euro) and then an airport express or taxi to airport (train = 80 Yuan, taxi starting from 200 Yuan).

· The cheapest option would be to take a train from Guangzhou to Shenzhen (75 Yuan – 7,5 Euro), then we took subway, only for the next station (20 HKD – 2 euro) and then from the metro station to take a bus to airport (Bus A43, 29 Yuan – 2,9 Euro).

We chose option 2 and it was a long long day of changing bus with train with bus and finally we have arrived to the airport and took the flight to KL.

In KL airport our friend Juliana picked us up and we went together to our host in KL, Mario, who is actually an ex flat mate of Jeff, our other friend from KL.

We went out for a snack and drink with Mario and Juliana, and then later in Mario’s place had some beers and chats.
