Halong Bay out of control party

Halong Bay

One of the most expected visit in Vietnam - Halong Bay (Vinh Ha Long), with its 1499 islands on the 4000 square meters surface.

Min van picked us up at 7:30 from the hotel and took us to Halong city harbour, where from we were departing on the boat to Halong Bay.


All the boats which takes tourist on the trips around Halong Bay are made in the same style - old wooden design, which looks spectacular among Halong Bay rocks.

As we have knew, the food was included into the trip price, but drinks were not. And as we have heard, the drinks were very expensive on board and if the stuff finds any drinks you take on board - they were supposed to charge extra tax for that.


We did not care, and bought a bottle of wine, a bottle of Vodka Hanoi, couple of coke cans, fanta etc and hid everything in our bags. On board we also met our new friends: Vang (australian guy of vietnamese origin), Tony (another australian guy, this time with native australian orgins) and Alex (canadian).

We were ready to start out trip!!

The weather was cloudy, but Halong Bay was still spectacular.




And this is our cabin...nice!!!



It was freezing outside, so before boarding on boat, I have bought a jacket (winter jacket on the picture:-)) just in front of the pier, for 8 USD :-D










First stop - Surprising cave. Why it is called surprising? Because a french traveler who discovered it was very surprised, how big and beautiful it is haha


Well, it was big and beautiful!! :-D






Different rocks inside the cave had different shapes...for example a pair of feet on the upper part

Just close to the pier, in front of the cave, we saw a boat, where locals were selling alcoholic drinks and snacks for much lower price comparing to the prices on board. Of course we bought some beers...:-D


And later had them in the cabin :-D


Ok, next stop - kayaking. It was a bit cold so I have decided not to kayak, but Luciano and Juli have boarded that kayak and went to discover the Halong Bay.




Somehow, Zoe and Amy, were on the trip on the same day, but on different boat.

While Juli and Luciano were kayaking, I saw Amy and she said she saw the guys drinking beer on the kayak...can you imagine? :-DD Later they have explained me that they saw a boat with locals again, selling beer, and bought some beers to have on kayak...NO COMMENT!!

And these are all people from all boats kayaking at the same time haha


It was getting dark and we decided to have some drinks on the boat. We called it "happy coca-cola" and "happy fanta", since we drank all soft drinks and were putting wine and vodka in fanta/coke cans in order not to be caught by the boat crew haha


Later, together wtih our new friends: Vang, Tony and Alex, we played some poker and drank all happy fantas....


What to do when you finish your drinks and when it is 1 am...? Steal beers from the crew of course!! :-D Juli went to the upper floor on the boat and somehow found a box with 24 cans of beer, which belonged to the crew. And we happily drank it of course haha OUT OF CONTROL!!

Next day Vang decided to be an altruist and paid all beers...
