Day 73
Koh Phi Phi – Railay Bay
The title of the post (Same same but different) is the phrase you hear everywhere in Thailand. It is like slogan which locals use in each conversation, and the meaning is exactly what it seems to be :-D
We finally decided where to go after Koh Phi Phi, even the number of options was pretty large.
The options to stay in Railay are the following:
- Phranang Beach: the best beach in the area with a nice cave and the most expensive accomodation options
- Railay Bay East: is suppposed to be the cheapest option, but according to Lonely Planet the beach is muddy
- Railay Bay West: nice beach, but still expensive
- Tonsai Beach: cheaper option, which is supposed to be a good place to relax for couple of days and the closest to Ao Nang beach.
Once decided the destination - Railay Bay, we have chosen Ton Sai beach as a starting point.
We bought the tickets and boarded to the boat at 15:00. The boat was really great, big, comfortable and with air conditioning :-D
In around 2 hours by boat, we reached Railay bay.
The boat stoped in front of Ton Sai beach and small long tail boat came to pick us up with the bags and bring to the beach. This pick up was included in the price.
This beach seemed to be perfect for those who like rock climbing, smoking weed and relaxing in the jungle :-DD
Lots of monkeys on the trees directly on the beach.
And one crazy little monkey, called Mr. Bin, who was the star of the local beach bar :-D
As usual we left Juli and Luciano with the bags and together with Ariel went to check out accomodation. We decided to stay in the place called Mount View Resort and below you can see our hotel pick up :-D
nice and clean bungalows for 700 baht (14 euros), but no air con :-)
In 30-45 minutes after our arrival to bungalows, it started to rain like hell (and it was supposed to be a dry season!! :-D
Later we went for dinner and I had this impressive coco nut curry.
And later couple of cocktails in a local hippy bar (we have crazy faces on this picture, right? :-D
